Historic Motor Racing News

The readers of Historic Motor Racing News are part of a close-knit family, and like all families, the members care about one another. Our readers are often known personally to us and to one another, and we hope that some of what we lack in big budgets and lots of staff is made up for in genuine enthusiasm and real reliable information. Unlike many publications, we do not just publish organisers’ press releases, we go to events or we talk to those who were there to give the real story from the competitors’ viewpoint. We welcome letters and emails, as we always want to hear what you have to say.

Racing Series

Having created and organised the Gentleman Drivers for World Endurance Sports and GT cars for seven years and started the Sports Racing Challenge for Sports Prototypes, we at Historic Motor Racing News are actively involved in promoting the sport.

Currently we are sponsoring and organising U2TC , a series for under two litre Touring Cars. Having debuted in 2006 with strong entries form Alfa Romeos, Lotus Cortinas, Minis, Abarths, Volvos and other pre-'66 European Championship Touring Cars, the series goes from strength to strength and has rounds in 2011 at Donington, Monza, Dijon, Silverstone Classic, Spa and Portimão.

We are also involved in the exciting new Pre-'63 GT Mini Series, which ran at Silverstone Classic in 2009 and runs at Donington, Dijon, Silverstone and Spa in 2011. The round at the Silverstone Classic is for the Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy for Historic Cars, which is awarded by the Royal Automobile Club to the race winner.

Proposed by Jason Wright, organiser of the Coppa Intereuropa at Monza, we are also helping to organise the 1000kms, a series aimed at attracting the fabulous cars that ran in the World Sportscar Championships between 1964 and 1971. For 2011 there are four races, which will total 1000kms in combined race length.

See our "Race Series" page to download regulations and other information. Or give us a call.
